Kelly and Ronnie got married on the beautiful pacific coast in Laguna Beach, California. It was a short, sweet and simple wedding. Ronnie had mentioned he liked country music. This is the first time I’ve ever seen a first dance with country music. Check out the video I made for them!

Jill and George are such a lovely couple that I just can’t post enough of their photos online. She’s beautiful, he’s handsome they’re playful and it’s obvious that they are truly in love. The images you are about to see seriously look like they came right out of a movie. They were lucky enough to be able to use the backyard of a house with an amazing garden. It was a mexican themed wedding event with mexican musicians (guitarists and accordion players in uniform) and mexican food (super chicken and beef tacos, enchiladas, rice and beans).

Check out this piece of Mexican art! You can’t get any more authentic Mexican than this. I love how there’s a mini donkey pinata.

Learning the accordion would been a lot more fun, but I got stuck with learning the piano. It’s obviously not nearly as portable as an accordion.

It’s those moments before the bride and groom are about to kiss that give me butterflies in my stomach, but I have to stay focused and make sure can still take a clear photo. My hands were probably sweating profusely as I clenched onto my camera as hard as I could to keep my camera steady.

After scrounging through his pocket for a minute to find the ring, he finally found it, phew!

I absolutely love this shot of Jill and George as they gaze into each others’ eyes a second before they enjoy their first kiss as husband and wife.

I caught this photo of George looking at Mom and Jill making her speech while the sun was setting. I believe they call this the Magic Hour in photography.

Another amazing shot of Jill and George. You can truly see how happy they are, they’ll be able to relive this moment forever.

    Black and White Wedding Photography

I forget how many poems George wrote for Jill, but WOW, it was such a sweet poem. Everyone was literally watery eyed at this moment. George is also a phenomenal speaker, which made this poem even more touching.

Family hugs cant get better than this. The gentleman on the lower right side is actually in a wheelchair, so I had them give each other a great big hug for this shot. You can almost hear the laughter, feel the warmth and the happiness they must be feeling at this moment.

I’d say this was a perfect evening for Jill and George as they joined together as husband and wife. They wanted a simple backyard wedding and invited their closest family and friends to join them on their special day. I had a fabulous time photographing them and wish the best for their future.

Valentine’s Day is coming up this weekend and to stay within budget, you can quickly make a free 30-second short video through a website called Animoto.com. All you have to do is upload your photos, add some text (optional), and choose your music. Then just send it to your friend or loved one. Grab the photos from facebook or your personal digital album of photos. Here’s an example of a photography album that I created with the photos in my database. However, I did use an all-access account so that I could create longer videos.

This was a very interesting sheet was displayed at one of the Chinese weddings that I was at. It looks like this was translated directly from Chinese, so don’t expect proper English. I also do not know the author here, so I can’t provide any recognition to the write, but here it is verbatim.

    Banquet Menu

Chinese food has special symbolism: mostly wishes of happiness, longevity, or fertility. Below are descriptions for some of the dishes that will be served tonight. Thanks for joining us and enjoy!

    1. Roasted Suckling Pig with Jelly Fish Platter
A wedding banquet starts with appetizers such as”dragon-phoenix” plates or cold plates that consist of various sliced meats and jellyfish. The dish represents prosperity with sucking pig representing gold and the jellyfish representing silver.

    2. Pan Fried Whole Scallops
    3. Stir-Fried Giant Shellfish and Shrimp
    4. Fried Rice Cake with Seafood Soup
    5. French Style Beef
    6. Sauteed Sea Cucumber with Abalone and Mushroom
Serving sea cucumber with vegetables is a sign of selflessness because “sea cucumber” sounds like “good heart” and this dish wishes the couple to think in a similar way – to avoid conflict.

    7. Prince Seafood Lobster
    8. House Special Peking Duck
Red is the color for happiness, so serving Peking duck and lobster would signify joy and celebration. Also, serving the dish whole, i.e. with the head and legs would symbolize completeness.

    9. Steamed Whole Fish
Serving fish would hope that the couple will experience a life together with abundance because “fish” sounds like “plentiful” in Chinese.

    10. Yang Zhou Fried Rice
Rice is a basic staple in Chinese cuisine and it represents the many meals the couple will eat together in the future.

    11. Mango Pudding
    12. Sweet Forever Dessert Soup
Serving dessert wishes the newlyweds a sweet life. The hot sweet soup should contain lotus seeds (lian zi) and a bark-like vegetable (bak hop) to wish the newlyweds a hundred years of togetherness

I photographed their ceremony and reception at The Grand Events Center in Long Beach, CA.
I have the best job in the world and it’s people like Zoila and Jason who inspire me. They’re so happy together and that’s what creates the most beautiful weddings. Here’s a glimpse of them at the beach playing. I love capturing couples when they’re happily frolicking around as if I weren’t around.

For Elise and Robert, it was celebration of their love with family and friends. It was different to see such different personalities join together. Elise has an infinite amount of energy while Robert is a laid back kind of guy. It kind of reminds me of my relationship with my girlfriend. They were a really fun couple to work with and I wish the best for their future.

Here some of my favorite shots of the day…

We did an awesome urban photoshoot around Costa Mesa with a couple who were great models right before their wedding. What I love about being a wedding photographer is simply, documenting love. Sure, I love all the details and the fashion and the big parties, but it’s the love and the passion each couple shares that I want them to remember from their special day. It was a perfect day and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting sun for their photos.

Rosa and Carlos had a pink themed wedding and wanted a vintage, yet modern looking set of photos. Their wedding was held at Santiago Oaks Regional Park in Orange, California. It was a beautiful pink themed outdoor wedding ceremony and reception. There were about 80 guests at their wedding. Her decor made all the difference and transformed this place into an amazing outdoor venue.

Things I did not like about this venue:
The park ranger did not allow us to use the orange grove for photos, bummer, but were were able to hike a little up the trail for a few snapshots. The trees didn’t really provide too much shade, but where there was shade, it was really spotty.

A moment that Carol and Eric will cherish forever.
    lovestory

It was truly and emotional day as two people unite and dedicate themselves to each other. Yes, there were the ups and downs with the event planning, well, mainly the DJ leaving for introductions, but overall, it was a successful night. It was sweet witnessing Eric staying calm and calming Carol down through that “situmacation”. My favorite shot of the night was when they were cutting the cake and the cake almost toppled over, a priceless moment. They are absolutely one of the cutest couples around. If you don’t believe me, see for yourself. Once again, congratulations to the beautiful couple. I’ll be posting more photos of the event soon.
