Linda and Tyrone are engaged and are together at the Santa Monica Pier for their engagement shoot aka for me! just kidding. Linda flew down from NorCal just for this shoot and it was my pleasure to photograph this photogenic couple. Doesn’t he remind you of someone famous?
I asked her if there was 1 photo that she could leave with after the shoot, what would that photo be? Her answer was to capture a series of photos. She wanted to capture and re-enact the way they met. They were at a restaurant and he was checkin’ her out from a distance. It was love at first site and he approached her, asking if he could have a seat. They sparked it from there and exchanged business cards. Don’t take my words for it, see for yourself.

I love how nature photos turn out! Renee and Arturo are engaged and wanted to have their engagement photos take at Millard Canyon in Pasadena, which is a hidden gem just minutes away from Old Town Pasadena. Here are some of my favorite photos from the shoot.

Santa Monica Pier Engagement Session
It was a perfect day for Patrice and Elijah’s engagement session at the Santa Monica Pier. They’re not from southern California so it was a treat for them to be out at the pier. The main reason they wanted to take their engagement photos here is because it Ma’kai, a restaurant right by the pier was where Elijah proposed to Patrice. Ma’kai was closed when we were there, but we were able to get some shots in front of the restaurant and underneath the signs.
Before meeting the couple, I received a phone call from Elijah saying they were walking over to the restaurant. I had him hold hands with her and stay close to her so that I could take some paparazzi style shots of them. It wasn’t until they got to the restaurant did they realize i was across the street photographing them.
Throughout the day, we just went on to explore the pier for what it had to offer. One of the highlights of the day was having a street performer serenade Patrice and Elijah. There was also another performer with parrots. We ended the session with some fun with ice cream, yummm…craving ice cream now.

Update (April 13th, 2010):
So Elijah is also a graphic designer and created a lovely wedding website. So it’s official, they will be getting married on March 25th, 2011. Their special day will happen at the Liberty House in New Jersey, 5000 miles away from Santa Monica, CA. Learn about their love story, have a look at the rest of the photos I took for them, about their wedding party, and the fine details that they have provided their family and guests far before their wedding date. This is seriously love! It’s fun and fresh! Here’s a quick glimpse at his creation. http://www.elijahandpatrice.com/Contact Us at (213) 985-2561 or See Portfolio: Wedding Photography | Engagement Photography

Super Simple Valentine’s Day Gift Idea: Slideshow Video Photo Album
Posted in: Blog, Engagement Photography, Wedding Photography
Valentine’s Day is coming up this weekend and to stay within budget, you can quickly make a free 30-second short video through a website called Animoto.com. All you have to do is upload your photos, add some text (optional), and choose your music. Then just send it to your friend or loved one. Grab the photos from facebook or your personal digital album of photos. Here’s an example of a photography album that I created with the photos in my database. However, I did use an all-access account so that I could create longer videos.

Engagement Party in Tarzana
Posted in: Blog, Engagement Photography
The house that this party took place at was incredible! Just the driveway alone took 5 minutes to walk up the steep driveway overlooking the entire city. It’s not easy when you’re walking up with 15+ pounds of camera gear. Then imagine this, when I left the party, the entire driveway was packed with cars from top to bottom. Here are some of the photos from the event.
The love birds!

This is one of my favorite shots. I was afraid that it would shoot at me, but hey, it was all worth it for this particular sht. Look at their reaction. I love it!

The men!

This baby has such pretty eyes – big eyes with double eye lids, sorry ladies, you’re going to have to wait 17 years. He’s going to grow up to be a handsome one.

Thanks Nicole for inviting me to this joyful event.
